One of the worst things that can happen to your Nintendo DS Lite unit is the top screen getting damaged. Believe it or not, from a repairman’s standpoint, repairing the top screen on the Nintendo DS Lite would be easier than repairing the damage to the top screen, even if the bottom screen is the more complex component given the fact that it is the one with touch screen functionality. The reason for this is simple: before one can remove the top screen for repairs, the repairman must first open up and disassemble the bottom half of the unit. It’s twice as much work than repairing the bottom screen.
So, what are the steps in repairing the top screen on the Nintendo DS Lite?
First and foremost, one must determine whether a repair or replacement is necessary. In most cases, repairing the top screen on the Nintendo DS Lite is not necessary, as often, it would be cheaper to replace the same altogether.
Nevertheless, before one can proceed with replacing or repairing the top screen on the Nintendo DS Lite, the top screen must be removed first.
To do this, follow the steps below:
1. Remove the battery of the DS Lite unit.
2. Remove the four screws at the back of the bottom half of the DS Lite unit.
3. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry open the back casing of the bottom half of the console. The circuit board will now be visible to you.
4. Disconnect the WiFi antenna.
5. Remove the WiFi board. It can be found right beside the cartridge slot.
6. Underneath the WiFi board is the microphone connector. Disconnect it from the circuit board as well.
7. Study the circuit board. You should see two screws that attach the same to the front front casing of the lower half of the Nintendo DS Lite unit. Remove these two screws.
8. Gently pull out the circuit board. You will notice that a wired clasp with still be connecting it to the top half of the Nintendo DS Lite. You can easily remove this clasp with a flathead screwdriver or your nails.
9. Now, on the top half on the Nintendo DS Lite unit, you will notice 4 screws around the top screen. Remove them.
10. The top casing can now be removed.
11. Once you gain access to the top screen, you can pull it out of its position. It’s supported by a lot of adhesive, so don’t be afraid to apply force in removing the top screen on the Nintendo DS Lite.
12. The speakers are soldered on the top screen. If you will be replacing the top screen, you will have to remove the speakers as well and solder them on the new screen.
Repairing the top screen on the Nintendo DS Lite isn’t as difficult as many people think.

How To Find The Right Nintendo DS Lite Replacement Case For Your Unit
The Nintendo DS Lite is a portable gaming system. As such, it will be able to visit many places because the philosophy behind its design is transportability. It is meant to be taken with you wherever you may go. Transportability has its price, however. The Nintendo DS Lite is susceptible to damages, more than any other gaming system, as it is exposed to more environmental and situational hazards. The Nintendo DS Lite falls to the ground and breaks its casing at a higher rate, compared to other home-based or handheld video game console.
Thankfully, there are Nintendo DS Lite replacement cases available in the market. There are many varieties to choose from, even, that selecting the right one is never as easy as picking the first Nintendo DS Lite replacement case you’ll see.
Below are 4 tips that will help you choose the right Nintendo DS Lite replacement case for your need.
1. Choose a sturdy Nintendo DS Lite replacement case. You wouldn’t want to buy one that would easily break with the weight of your fingers. Believe it or not, there are Nintendo DS Lite replacement cases that seem to be as fragile as porcelain. Sturdy cases of excellent quality are those that keep their hard exteriors without compromising the weight of the unit.
2. Choose a Nintendo DS Lite replacement case that would be more resistant against dirt and scratches. Color and texture will play crucial roles when it comes to this criterion. Light colored Nintendo DS Lite cases are more prone to visible scratches. On the other hand, dark colored cases, if coupled with particular textures, will accumulate more dirt compared to other makes. The original piano black model of the Sony PSP, for example, was heavily criticized because of this, prompting the company to release more colors for their handheld system. The same problem exists for piano black Playstation 3 units, but because the PS3 is a home-based console, the problem is not as pressing as, say, when it is exhibited by a portable gaming system like the Nintendo DS Lite.
3. Choose a Nintendo DS Lite replacement case that’s not slippery. Try it out before buying. The case should provide a good grip for you. Otherwise, you’ll just drop the handheld and you’ll have to look for another Nintendo DS Lite replacement case soon enough.
4. If you don’t know how to disassemble a Nintendo DS Lite, bring your unit to the store and request for assistance in replacing your unit’s casing. Taking apart the Nintendo DS Lite unit can be very difficult, especially for inexperienced folks. Such may lead to more serious problems for your portable console. It’s always better to seek the aid of experts for this kind of task.

The Truth About Nintendo DS Lite Games RC4
The internet has been flooded with searches for information about “Nintendo DS Lite games RC4.” Such searches may be a product of some confusion, however. RC4 is a modification ship, or modchip, for the Nintendo Wii, allowing the console to play backup Wii games and backup Gamecube games. For the Nintendo DS Lite, R4 is the correct accessory. R4 is a special SD card that stores digital formats of existing Nintendo DS Lite games. The Nintendo DS Lite will be able to read these games as if they were legitimate copies of the titles they “emulate.”
Hence, whenever there are searches about “Nintendo DS Lite games RC4,” one should construe them as searches for Nintendo DS Lite games available for the R4.
At first, the R4 may seem like an exciting piece of gadgetry. Imagine having to bring just one SD card instead of many game cartridges for your Nintendo DS Lite. You won’t have to change cartridges anymore. You won’t have to go through several casings just to find the game you want to play. A 1 gigabyte R4 card can store up to 10 games, depending on the size of a title.
But the R4 card is not being used as a Nintendo DS Lite accessory to make things convenient for the player.
The R4 card is being used as a tool for piracy.
Indeed, when people conduct searches about “Nintendo DS Lite games RC4” on the internet, they are actually looking for Nintendo DS Lite games they can download and subsequently upload to their R4 cards… Nintendo DS Lite games which they don’t have to buy to enjoy.
These “Nintendo DS Lite games RC4” are ripped from actual game cartridges and peddled on the web as .nds files. The R4 card can store these .nds cards and read them as if they were real, commercial games.
The ill effects of piracy, of course, are well documented. Piracy steals profit that game developers rightfully deserve. If game developers lose money, they’ll stop making games and gamers will suffer because of it. Also, there are unconfirmed reports that proceeds from piracy are used to fund terrorist campaigns all over the world.
Not to mention that fact that piracy is an illegal activity.
The R4 card is a vehicle for piracy.
But is the R4 card illegal by itself? The answer is no. The R4 card, in fact, is a necessary tool for homebrew development and enjoyment. There are many potential applications for the Nintendo DS Lite, applications which are being explored and developed by members of the homebrew community. To make the DS Lite read these homebrew applications, an emulator like the R4 card is needed.
The R4 card is more than just a way to play pirated games that people search for by typing “Nintendo DS Lite games RC4” on search engines. If used correctly, the R4 card can be a special tool that will extend the functionality of your Nintendo DS Lite.

Nintendo DS Or Sony PSP: Which Should You Buy?
Many say that we’re living in the Golden Age of portable gaming. Whereas before, the handheld gaming industry was dominated by the Nintendo Gameboy and its many iterations and met with token resistance by challengers like the Sega Gamegear and, well, nothing else, nowadays the battle is a little bit closer – the Nintendo DS vs. the Sony PSP.
If you’re an avid gamer and you’re in the middle of considering which of these two gaming systems should be your first portable console for this generation, then this article is for you. We will be discussing which among the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP is worth your gaming dollars.
So, the Nintendo DS or the Sony PSP?
Let’s take a look at the sheer power of the portable gaming systems involved. With this regard, the Sony PSP trumps the Nintendo DS. The Sony PSP, after all, is described as a Playstation 1.5, meaning, it’s more powerful than the original Playstation One, but not quite in the level of the PS2. Nevertheless, for a handheld, that’s a lot of power!
The Sony PSP boasts of a 333 MHz processor. The Nintendo DS, on the other hand, boasts of a dual core processor, albeit, with only 67.028 MHz and 33.514 MHz cores. Hence, the runaway winner when it comes to processing power and graphic rendering is very clear.
Multiplayer experience is also very important for gamers these days. The Nintendo DS suffers from poor Wi Fi connectivity. The Sony PSP is supported by a more stable networking infrastructure that allows for a smoother online gaming experience. Both handheld systems, however, fare excellently when it comes to local multiplayer games.
But how about the games, you might ask?
Hardware, after all, is only as good as the software programs released for the same.
And when it comes to this, the Nintendo DS is the clear winner. With game releases for the Nintendo DS outnumbering the game releases for the Sony PSP by a ratio of 4:1, it comes as no surprise why the Nintendo DS is beating the Sony PSP in sales charts all over the world.
The Nintendo DS is also blessed with a lineup of fantastic exclusives. Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Pokemon and the likes are just some of the more popular franchises in Nintendo’s stable of highly recognizable properties. The Sony PSP also has some exclusives, but they are nowhere near the prominence of their Nintendo counterparts.
Of course, what really defines the Nintendo DS is the innovative game play mechanics of its software programs, made possible by the revolutionary design of the handheld. With dual screen, touch screen functionality, a built-in microphone, and even dual cam for the newer Nintendo DSi units, Nintendo should be credited for striving to revolutionize the video game industry.
Sure, the Sony PSP has the more powerful system and is a better multimedia machine, but when it comes to the other factors, the Nintendo DS will appear as the better choice.

A Look At 4 Of Nintendo’s Biggest Properties
The Nintendo Wii won’t be the juggernaut that it is if it weren’t for Wii Sports, Super Mario Galaxy, and even Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The Nintendo DS Lite won’t be dominating sales charts without titles like New Super Mario Bros., Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, and Nintendogs.
These show us the extreme importance of first party games for any gaming system – portable or otherwise.
First party games, after all, are exclusive to the system – a reason for gamers to support the console for the chance to experience what the title can offer.
And Nintendo is rich with first party properties. Which among them are the most recognizable? Here are the top 4 Nintendo franchises of all time:
1. Mario. Mario has become the mascot for Nintendo, if not the face of the video game industry. Mario, after all, led the resurgence of the industry when the NES was released. Almost every household owns a Mario game or two, and everyone –and this means EVERYONE from Tennessee to Tibet – will recognize Mario as well as his less illustrious but also famous brother, Luigi.
2. Legend of Zelda. Legend of Zelda is the first action-RPG that charmed the world. As a top down adventure game for the NES, people saw the depth behind its seeming simplicity – a philosophy that was maintained with each and every installment in the series. Every Legend of Zelda game offers a different story (unless one is the direct sequel of the other, which has only happened thrice before), but they will always include Link, Princess Zelda, Ganon (the final boss in every game), and the Triforce.
3. Metroid. The adventures of Samus always bring back fond memories for old and new Nintendo players. Fun times are always associated with being able to roll into a ball for the first time, discovering breakable walls that reveal hidden passages to monumental suit upgrades, and beating the crap out of Mother Brain after dying 50 times trying to figure out her pattern. Since its NES incarnation, Metroid has been transformed as a first person adventure (not shooter, according to Nintendo itself) for the Gamecube, the Wii, and the Nintendo DS Lite. And now, Team Ninja – the same development group that gave us Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Ninhja Gaiden Sigma 2 – has taken the reins of bringing us a new Metroid game… and everybody is excited once again.
4. Pokemon. Pokemon was a surprise moneymaker for Nintendo. Up to now, company execs still can’t believe how the property has become a billion dollar franchise for Nintendo. The idea of populating a game world with hundreds of monsters and challenging players to “gotta catch ‘em all” has paid dividends for the number one video company in the world.

What To Do When You See Green Lines On Bottom Screen Of DS Lite
Dead pixels are very frustrating. They are those seemingly glowing dots that stand out on the screens of our Nintendo DS Lite units even when the rest of the screen plays a different scene. Dead pixels truly ruin one’s gaming experience, and this is the reason why people who buy a Nintendo DS Lite unit should check out the system for any signs of dead pixels. One dead pixel found should be taken as a strong argument for a replacement while the store’s exchange policy is still in effect.
But there’s something more irritating – and even more alarming – than dead pixels on your Nintendo DS Lite.
These are the green lines on bottom screen of DS Lite which plague quite a number of units.
Sometimes, these green lines on bottom screen of DS Lite are merely distractive. They do not cause any performance issues. They are just visual annoyances that take away one’s total enjoyment of the games he plays on his handheld.
There are times, however, when the green lines on bottom screen of DS Lite render the unit useless. These green lines may block majority of the bottom screen. Worse, these green lines may make the Nintendo DS Lite fail to boot up.
What causes these green lines on bottom screen of DS Lite? More importantly, what should a Nintendo DS Lite owner do when he sees these green lines on his unit’s bottom screen?
Green lines on bottom screen of DS Lite are caused by a loose connection on the ribbon cable connecting the top screen and the bottom screen of the unit.
Hopefully, this is the case.
There are worse causes, of course, one of them being total damage to the said ribbon cable.
One thing is for certain, if you will attempt to fix the problem by yourself – either by securing the connection of the ribbon cable or by replacing it altogether – you will have to disassemble your Nintendo DS Lite unit. This, for many people, is the hardest part.
So what should you do?
1. You will have to remove the battery of the DS Lite unit, first and foremost.
2. You will then have to remove the 4 screens on the back casing of the lower half of the DS Lite. Once they are removed, pry open and remove the said casing. The circuit board should be exposed.
3. Disconnect the WiFi antenna and remove the WiFI board. Then, remove the WiFi board from the circuit board. The WiFi board is the box-like structure right beside the cartridge slot.
4. Beneath the WiFi board, you’ll see the microphone connector. Disconnect it from the circuit board.
5. Remove the 2 screws that secure the circuit board to the DS Lite’s casing. Pull out the circuit board.
6. Now you’ll see a clasp-like device connecting the bottom half and top half of the DS Lite unit. This is the ribbon cable that’s causing the green lines on bottom screen of DS Lite. Fix or replace it as needed.
But there’s something more irritating – and even more alarming – than dead pixels on your Nintendo DS Lite.

5 DS Lite Nintendo Games To Watch Out For In 2009 And Beyond
The DS Lite Nintendo is this generation’s definitive portable gaming system. Much like the Gameboy, the Gameboy color, and the Gameboy Advance, the DS Lite Nintendo is dominating each and every sales chart in the world. It’s “closest” rival, the Sony Playstation Portable (PSP), is only in second place by default. The fact is, the “closest” competitor isn’t even close at all. The DS Lite Nintendo is light years away when it comes to total number of units sold.
One of the main reasons for the DS Lite Nintendo’s dominance of the market is the quality of the games under its banner. Not only does Nintendo boast of first party games that can be the envy of any industry – what with franchises like Mario, Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong, Pokemon and Metroid under the company’s stable – but the portable gaming system also enjoys strong support from third party developers who have made, and are poised to make, classics for the DS Lite Nintendo.
So, what are the 5 DS Lite Nintendo games to watch out for in the near future?
1. Scribblenauts. This title is, without a doubt, the most innovative game in the history of the DS Lite Nintendo – if not the history of video games altogether. The player will be presented with a series of puzzles, and he has free reign on how to solve them. How? By writing, with the aid of the stylus, the name of items that can potentially solve the situational problems. Your character can’t get across a cliff? Write “bridge” and one will magically appear. Want to be more inventive? Write “helicopter” or “airplane” or even “Pterodactyl” and you will be able to cross the cliff with flair. With 10,000 words in the game, you’ll never run out of options.
2. Dragon Quest IX. The latest sequel to the bestselling RPG series in the world is coming to the DS Lite Nintendo. It has actually been released in Japan, and this Square-Enix masterpiece has been met with critical and commercial acclaim. More than 30% of Japanese employees missed work just to fall in line to be one of the first to play Dragon Quest IX.
3. Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. The remakes of the original Pokemon Gold and Silver are also coming to the DS Lite Nintendo. With improved graphics, streamlined game play, and added features and storylines, these two games are expected to top the sales charts, just like any other game in the franchise.
4. Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks. A new Legend of Zelda game is always a cause for celebration. Spirit Tracks picks up where Phantom Hourglass left off, albeit, this time, Link will be fiddling with trains instead of ships.
5. Mario and Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story. A new Mario and Luigi RPG game is likewise a cause for celebration. The newest installment for the DS Lite Nintendo has the brothers in an adventure in the unlikeliest of place: inside Bowser’s body.

Gauging The Performance Of The Nintendo DS Lite UK Version, So Far
In 2007, there were rumors that the Queen’s most favorite pastime whenever she’s in her solitude and away from the madding crowd was her then newfound fascination for the Nintendo DS Lite UK version. Whether such was a fact that managed to crawl out of the royal house of secrets or a fabricated piece of news concocted by “professionals” who have been doing such a thing for years remain to be seen.
However – fact or fiction, reality of rumor – such a report cannot diminish the huge impact of Nintendo’s flagship handheld system on the British populace.
Indeed, Nintendo DS Lite UK version has taken the nation by storm. In fact, England has become one of the primary markets for the company, thanks in large part to the success garnered by the Nintendo DS Lite UK in these shores.
How well, exactly, has the Nintendo DS Lite UK version performed?
Amazingly well, if we may say so.
First released in the country in 2006, the Nintendo DS Lite UK version sold almost 200,000 copies on its first week alone. This is a fantastic number that immediately established Old Blighty as a major market for the portable gaming system. The series, as a whole, has sold almost 80 million units worldwide as of March, 2009. Of these, more than 2 million were sold in Great Britain.
The bestselling game for the system has been Nintendogs, a title that has sold more than 23 million copies all over the world. Almost 1.5 million of these copies were sold in Great Britain. What does this mean? Well, we can safely assume that almost every Nintendo DS Lite UK version owner also bought a Nintendogs game. This should be perfectly understandable. Nintendogs is a dog keeping simulation game after all. It fills a need that most Englanders in urban areas have been deprived of.
The next highest selling games in the list? New Super Mario Bros., Animal Crossing and Brain Age all sold more than a million copies each in the UK market. New Super Mario Bros. was quite a success mainly because of the strength of its name. The people of England have yet to forget the magical moments made possible by the NES original. Animal Crossing is a hit for the younger generation because of its hybrid game play that mixes elements of the Sims with elements of Pokemon. And Brain Age? It’s the perfect casual game that you see most adults play while waiting for the train.
The most popular color for the Queen’s people? The black Nintendo DS Lite UK version has always sold out since its release in December, 2006.
The Nintendo DS Lite UK version, of course, isn’t the only Nintendo product that’s experiencing a lot of success in the country. The Nintendo Wii’s sales have been nothing short of spectacular in England. The console is reporting sellouts across the country, from West Ham to Chelsea to Manchester to Liverpool.

A Nintendo DS Lite Review For The Sony PSP Owner
Most Nintendo DS Lite reviews will be quite generic as they are meant for readers who are planning to buy a Nintendo DS Lite and for readers who are actually choosing between a Nintendo DS Lite and a Sony PSP. Most of these Nintendo DS Lite reviews aren’t for people who already own a Sony PSP and are considering whether or not the additional purchase of a Nintendo DS Lite unit will be good for them.
Well, this Nintendo DS Lite review is different.
So, let’s lay down our thesis: if you already own a Sony PSP, is the Nintendo DS Lite still worth a purchase?
Let’s take a look at the facts:
The Sony PSP is a powerful piece of portable gaming goodness. It’s dubbed as the Playstation 1.5 because it is more powerful than the original Playstation and almost as powerful as the PS2. To think that all that processing power and graphic rendering capability is packed in such a small machine is indeed superbly amazing.
Now, here’s a reality that will be presented by this Nintendo DS Lite review: the Nintendo DS Lite is nowhere as powerful as the Sony PSP.
In fact, many believe that the Nintendo DS Lite merely possesses a third of the processing and graphic rendering prowess of the Sony PSP, though such a claim remains unsubstantiated by verifiable performance tests.
Because of the higher processing power, the Sony PSP is capable of playing better audio as well.
What, then, are the reasons that will make a Sony PSP owner buy a Nintendo DS Lite?
Alas, we come to crucial points of this Nintendo DS Lite review. Let’s take a look at things that the Nintendo DS Lite has that the Sony PSP critically lacks:
- A deeper game library. Nintendo DS Lite games outnumber their Sony PSP counterparts by a ratio of 4:1. Software developers have favored the Nintendo DS system because of the bigger installed user base and the lower development fees associated with a project for the handheld console. The result are a slew of new games released each and every week for the Nintendo DS Lite, compared to a handful of games released per month for the Sony PSP.
- A lineup of highly acclaimed exclusives. Sure, the Sony PSP has Resistance, God of War and even offbeat titles like Patapon, which can only be found under the Sony label. But the Nintendo DS Lite boasts of genre-defining franchises like Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong, Legend of Zelda, Metroid, and so many more.
- Potentials for astoundingly innovative gameplay. Innovation is the Nintendo DS Lite’s middle name, what with a dual screen feature, touch screen functionality, a built-in microphone, and even a system that is developed to accommodate add-ons to introduce newer game play mechanics. The Sony PSP is only good for straightforward games.
So, for the conclusion of this Nintendo DS Lite review: is the Nintendo DS Lite a worthy purchase for people who already own a Sony PSP?
The short answer: you bet!

Is A Nintendo DS Lite Video Playback Possible?
Most of the new gadgets being released in the market today are dubbed as multimedia beasts, meaning, aside from their primary functions, they also have additional features that allow the user to enjoy different kinds of experiences with different kinds of file formats. Cellular phones, for example, are more than just electronic devices used for sending and receiving calls and messages. They also include built-in cameras, audio playback systems, video recording and video playing functionalities, PDA-type scheduling, and the likes. The same is true for MP3 players, GPS systems, and even some calculators these days.
Should the Nintendo DS Lite be any different? After all, its closest competitor, the Sony Playstation Portable (PSP), is already being marketed as a handheld multimedia hub.
The Nintendo DS Lite can play games, indeed. It can also play music in the popular MP3 format. It can connect to the net via wi-fi. And it can be used to browse through many websites.
But can it play DS Lite videos?
Alas, such is the biggest failing of the portable gaming system, at least in the eyes of many folks: its inability to play DS Lite videos.
However, this doesn’t mean that the system cannot play any DS Lite videos at all. This only means that the Nintendo DS Lite cannot play videos in popular file types. Formats like .avi. .mov. .mpeg, .rm and the likes are out of the picture. The Nintendo DS Lite cannot play them.
The Nintendo DS Lite cannot even play videos in .mp4, the format used by the highly popular iPod video and iPhone systems, and the format adopted by the Sony PSP.
What Nintendo’s handheld can play is the highly compressed and highly specialized .dpg file format. All video types can be converted to .dpg and there are many freeware, shareware and commercial programs in the market that will allow users to do this.
This DS Lite video format, however, is not without its shortcomings:
- This DS Lite video format is, as mentioned earlier, highly compressed, resulting in pixilation and very low resolution. Movies can’t be enjoyed fully because of the limited range of their rendition as .dpg files.
- This DS Lite video format, though already compressed, will still take up considerable storage. Even if you’re using an SD card, you will still find it difficult to save a full movie.
- Playing this DS Lite video format consume the system’s battery by four times more than usual.
- This DS Lite video format cannot be played straight from the box. You will need a homebrew program installed on a custom-made SD card to be able to play .dpg files.
With all these limitations, we have no recourse but to accept the fact that the Nintendo DS Lite is not meant as a portable video player.
The Nintendo DS Lite is only meant as a handheld gaming machine – the best one in the market today – and it’s best that it remains that way. As many people say, a jack of all trades can be a master of none.

Should You Or Should You Not Buy A Nintendo DS Lite White?
Sure, its library of games is nothing short of fantastic. Sure, its innovative features allow for an amazing number of innovative game play mechanics. Sure, its dual screen feature is something that will catch anyone’s attention. Sure, its touch screen control scheme isn’t something that people have seen in gaming consoles before.
There’s so much to love about the Nintendo DS Lite, but one thing that people immediately adore about this portable gaming system is the fact that it comes in a variety of colors to suit anyone’s preference and personality.
The Nintendo DS Lite White is one of them.
The distinct appeal of the Nintendo DS Lite White is perfectly understandable, if not expected. White is the new black, so many people say. Some of the most popular gadgets today come in all shades of white. The original iPod iterations, the Xbox 360, the original Playstation 3, most iBooks, many MP3 players, and even the Nintendo DS Lite’s bigger cousin, the Nintendo Wii, all come in white.
White is a softer, more feminine color as well. Most females would prefer a gadget to come in white.
The fascination for black in the post-modern world also contributes to the growing popularity for its direct antithesis, white.
And the Nintendo DS Lite White is the perfect avenue to display the amazing qualities of the color.
We are all aware of the positives of a gadget that comes in white.
But do these make the Nintendo DS Lite White a “must buy?”
Indeed, there are many cons to choosing a Nintendo DS Lite White, as well. Let’s take a look at these negatives:
- The Nintendo DS Lite White is more prone to the accumulation of unsightly dirt on its surface, given the purity of the color. This can be a problem given the fact that the DS Lite unit, being a portable gaming console, will be more exposed to conditions that will dirty it up.
- The Nintendo DS Lite White won’t be able to conceal scratches – no matter how small or seemingly insignificant they are – compared to units with exteriors of darker tones. This can be a problem given the fact that the DS Lite unit, being a portable gaming console, will be more exposed to wear and tear.
- The Nintendo DS Lite White will require constant cleaning, more than what is needed by units of darker shades.
These being said, the Nintendo DS Lite White truly stands out in a crowd of Nintendo handhelds. Is it worth the purchase? Indeed it is, but the buyer should commit herself to the sacrifices that such an ownership will naturally entail.
